Dining Out
Have you eve found a $100 bill on the ground. I have. The bill laid innocently on the sidewalk that noon. I picked it up then glanced to see if anyone was around. Fifty yards away was a man asleep underneath a tree. If I had been feeling generous, I might have placed the $100 in his outstretched hand. Instead, I pocketed it feeling fortunate.
It was easy to know what to spend it on; I would dine out at least four restaurants. I love dining out. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. It doesn’t matter the hour. It doesn’t matter if I am joined by someone else. As a kid, I remembered feeling sorry for the woman sitting alone at a table reading a book. I wondered if she had no friends. No one to share the bread and butter offered before ordering food.
I have become that woman. Yes, I have friends I can invite to join me. But I also enjoy my own company and there are times that I’m not interested in talking with anyone.
With the $100 I could have treated a friend to lunch. I was feeling stingy. I didn’t want to share.
The first restaurant I ate at had a sushi bar. I had read that salmon was good for the brain and that all fish have omega-3s which were good for the heart, brain, cholesterol and joints. The google site OmegaWell by Live Conscious told me that.
The second restaurant I ate at was the Cheesecake Factory. I ordered a sauteed onion and mushroom burger. I don’t eat much meat but my body weekly craves red meat. I figure I need the protein and iron. And then what would a meal at Cheesecake Factory be without ordering dessert? I splurged and ordered a 1500 calorie piece of red velvet cheescake.
The third was Lucille’s. Everybody got a biscuit with amazing honey butter before each meal. I ordered their BBQ smoked pork sandwich.
There was no fourth restaurant. I spent what remained of the money on cat treats.
