The best pursuit I know is that of the word. Mostly in writing I don’t pursue horizons or sunsets, but the rusted edge of sewer drains or the gargoyle that warns off spirits prettier than itself. I write more of human made things than I do the natural world. I am obsessed with humans in all their manifestations, all their actions, all their art, all their possessions, and passions.
